Even in these uncertain times, the awesome talent at PlayFusion Studio is expanding! We’re looking for a highly-skilled, driven Principal Programmer to work on an exciting new and original IP for console and PC. As a principal programmer at PlayFusion you will be jointly responsible for leading the technical team and will be expected to take a leading technical role in the next, critical phase of our game's development. You will be required to develop a high level technical understanding of the entire project and specialist understanding of certain, key areas.

Skills & Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the senior production team on the technical vision for the game

  • High level design and implementation of efficient technical solutions to a wide variety of problems

  • Liaising across the team and with other related disciplines to ensure that multiple teams are working effectively

  • Identifying and leveraging the best Unreal technologies and third-party tools to enhance the game

  • Continual improvement and optimisation of development processes

  • Being an effective mentor to junior team members

  • Acting as technical liaison to out-staffing and out-sourcing vendors

  • Acting as technical liaison to third-party partners

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years developing games at a senior level

  • Multiple shipped titles

  • Experience with publishing onto at least one console

  • A history of developing and and running large-scale, online, multiplayer games

  • Proven experience overseeing large technical teams

  • Experience of setting up and running infrastructure on both bare metal and cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Excellent C++ knowledge

  • Deep understanding of at least 1 commercial games engine

  • Excellent knowledge of multiple scripting languages (Python, Javascript, Typescript, etc)

  • In-depth knowledge of the entire game development life-cycle

  • Excellent knowledge of multiplayer networking

  • In-depth knowledge of information security
