GAME INDUSTRY PEOPLE ON THE MOVE - JASON BRENNER

Ahead of the Game Manufacturers Association Trade Show, there have been several hiring announcements with prominent game industry companies.

Jason Brenner has joined PlayFusion as head of North American Sales. He will be the point of contact at the company for distributors and local game stores located in North America. Brenner has extensive game industry experience, including 13 years at The Upper Deck Company, most recently as Senior Brand Manager, overseeing the planning, marketing, sales and event strategies for games including Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. He was also Project Manager Corporate Strategy at Sony Online entertainment where he worked on a team through the launch of digital distribution for EverQuest, EverQuest II and DC Universe Online.

A crucial piece to the transmedia world is the standalone physical trading card game, with 385+ cards at launch that features a unique card rotation mechanic and powerful combo cards. TOMY Announces Partnership With The Leading Distributor Esdevium Games For The New Lightseekers Trading Card Game In The UK

TOMY, the global master toy partner for Lightseekers from the Cambridge based studio PlayFusion, have joined forces with leading UK based specialist distributer of games, collectibles and toys, Esdevium Games, for the launch of the new Lightseekers Trading Card Game. The augmented reality trading cards are playable as a physical, standalone game and can be used to enhance gameplay within the Lightseekers mobile game.- The cards are part of a next level connected play experience including smart action figures and accessories launching AW17.

Esdevium Games expertise and leadership within the world of trading cards will be invaluable in reaching expert TCG players and influencers.  This new partnership will be launched at the UK Games Expo in NEC (2nd June – 4th), the UK's largest Hobby Games Convention where consumers will also get their first full hands on experience of Lightseekers products & and the opportunity to buy the trading cards.

Lightseekers TCG showcases more than 350 printed cards at launch, and allows players to take control of a hero and use an arsenal of cards, featuring spells, creatures, items, and locations, to defeat their opponents. Each card is scannable by the Lightseekers mobile game to unlock in-game effects such as new spells, boosts, or even followers that will fight alongside you!

The game is quick and easy to learn, but also provides great depth for advanced players who wish to experiment with deck building and tactical play using unique mechanics.  The card game is intended for two players, but supports as many players as you wish. Games typically last between 10-15 minutes, but can vary based on deck complexity, skill level, and number of players.
